Thousands of \u00a0Citro\u00ebn\u00a0, \u00a0Opel\u00a0, \u00a0Peugeot\u00a0, \u00a0DS\u00a0, and \u00a0Fiat\u00a0 vehicles are currently under scrutiny due to issues related to the 1.5 BlueHDI diesel engine. Specifically, this recall affects models produced before \u00a0February 2023\u00a0, totaling over \u00a0600,000 units\u00a0 in France alone. In Spain, while the total number of affected vehicles is not yet clear, the initiative aims to \u00a0review\u00a0 vehicles in batches. The primary concern is the premature breaking of the \u00a0timing chain\u00a0, a critical component. If this chain fails, it effectively ends the engine’s lifecycle, as repairs are often not feasible.<\/p>\n

Owners of affected vehicles will receive formal notifications through the brand, as well as letters from the \u00a0DGT\u00a0 (Direcci\u00f3n General de Tr\u00e1fico), urging them to bring their cars to a workshop.
