Amazon has already deployed more than \u00a0one million robots\u00a0 in its logistics centers. The company itself claims<\/a> it has been automating numerous tasks previously performed by people. This figure not only marks the highest recorded so far but also reflects the critical role that automation has begun to play in the system.<\/p>\n

As reported by Red Stag Fulfillment<\/a>, Amazon had approximately \u00a01.56 million employees\u00a0 globally by 2025, with about 1.1 million of them in the United States. When comparing both figures, the number of robots approaches that of human workers, demonstrating the rapid evolution of robotics in the workplace.<\/p>\n

It All Started More Than a Decade Ago<\/h2>\n

In 2012, Amazon made headlines by paying \u00a0$775 million\u00a0 for Kiva Systems, a firm specializing in mobile robots that move shelves in warehouses. This unexpected acquisition was not just about technology; it was a \u00a0declaration of principles\u00a0. Amazon was taking control of its future in automation.<\/p>\n

Following the acquisition, Amazon began to integrate Kiva technology into its logistics centers. What started as a specialized startup in material management became the heart of a \u00a0silent transformation\u00a0 that redefined how millions of daily orders are processed.<\/p>\n

Initially, Kiva robots were limited to transporting shelves filled with products without packaging them. This practical solution aimed to eliminate physically taxing and repetitive tasks.
