This weekend<\/b>, the Public Force achieved a significant breakthrough against the criminal gang known as ‘La Immaculate’, which had terrorized the municipality of Tulu\u00e1 in Valle del Cauca. Authorities successfully apprehended 12 alleged extortionists<\/b> involved with the organization, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing battle against crime in the region.<\/p>\n

Governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro<\/b>, announced that with this operation, the law enforcement has successfully captured a total of 187 members of ‘La Immaculate’<\/b> so far this year. This significant number underscores the commitment and enhanced efforts of local authorities in dismantling this criminal network.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong the detainees are individuals known as Alias Stefa and Alias Wendy<\/b>, responsible for orchestrating extortion rackets targeting merchants in Tulu\u00e1\u2019s Market Square,” explained Governor Toro during an interview with the regional newspaper, The Country<\/i>. “We remain resolute in our fight against this criminal band.\u201d<\/p>\n

Colonel Sandra Rodr\u00edguez<\/b>, commander of the Valle Police, elaborated on the operation’s scale and success. “The arrests were the culmination of 15 search and seizure operations<\/b> in which we also confiscated a firearm,” she stated. The operation kicked off early in the morning, and the results included a total of 12 arrests executed under court orders, and one in the act.<\/p>\n

More than 30 units<\/b> from the Gaula and the Special Operations Group (GOES) coordinated closely with the Prosecutor’s Office to ensure effectiveness during the operation. Officials targeted residences within Tulu\u00e1 where individuals with outstanding arrest warrants were located.<\/p>\n

Colonel Rodr\u00edguez shed light on the role of Alias Stefa in the organization, stating, “Stefa was the financial coordinator<\/b> for this criminal enterprise, overseeing collections from market square vendors.” She emphasized the significant impact this operation has on eliminating extortion threats to local merchants.<\/p>\n

It was revealed that those responsible for extortion utilized digital wallets like Nequi and maintained accounts with Bancolombia. Another detainee, known as Alias \u00d3scar or Osquitar, was reportedly tasked with monopolizing essential family goods to manipulate prices in the local market.<\/p>\n

Authorities confirmed all detained individuals will face serious charges, including extortion<\/b> and illegal possession of firearms. The operation comes amidst a concerning uptick in intimidation tactics by ‘La Immaculate’, including threats distributed through pamphlets, as reported in El Tiempo<\/i>. This news intensifies the urgency for law enforcement to counteract criminal activity in the area.<\/p>\n

Committed to public safety<\/b>, authorities have reiterated that no threat issued by this group will be tolerated. \u201cWe are committed to ensuring the protection of local businesses and eliminating the scourge of extortion,\u201d stated Major General Carlos Triana, the director of the National Police. He highlighted that dismantling \u2018La Immaculate\u2019 remains a top priority for law enforcement in the region.<\/p>\n

The recent operation reflects the determination and extensive planning by law enforcement to combat organized crime in Tulu\u00e1.
