The Singapore government has confirmed that it has identified those responsible for diverting servers containing NVIDIA’s high-performance GPUs to China, presumably headed for the parent company of \u00a0DeepSeek\u00a0.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the Malaysian government is keen to do everything in its power to \u00a0avoid antagonizing the U.S. administration\u00a0. The presumed involvement of some of its companies in the export of cutting-edge chips to China places Malaysia in a delicate position, which has just become even more complicated. A Chinese company is suspected of training AI models using NVIDIA hardware within Malaysia.<\/p>\n

According to Reuters<\/a>, the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia is investigating whether this or any other company operating within its territory has violated local laws. Interestingly, this institution is examining a report claiming that four Chinese nationals traveled from \u00a0Beijing\u00a0 to \u00a0Kuala Lumpur\u00a0, each carrying multiple hard drives with dozens of terabytes of spreadsheets and images, intending to train an AI model on 300 servers equipped with NVIDIA chips.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Malaysia is not under any sanctions or restrictions from the U.S. government, and it is clear that this Asian nation is interested in maintaining the \u00a0most cordial relationship possible\u00a0 with the Trump administration.
