In a tragic turn of events, the \u00a0death\u00a0 of social media influencer \u00a0Valeria M\u00e1rquez\u00a0 has left many questions unanswered. Just one day after US authorities revealed that \u00a0Ricardo Ruiz Velasco\u00a0, known as \u00a0El Doble R\u00a0, could be linked to her murder, the \u00a0Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office\u00a0 stated they currently possess \u00a0no evidence\u00a0 tying him to the case. They indicated that they would seek more information from their counterparts in the United States.<\/p>\n

The \u00a0Treasury Department’s\u00a0 website contradicts previous statements made to Infobae M\u00e9xico by Jalisco authorities on May 14, when they denied that El Doble R was the main suspect in this case. During the May 19 press conference, \u00a0Salvador Gonz\u00e1lez de los Santos\u00a0, the head of the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office, remarked that there was no direct evidence connecting the individual associated with the \u00a0Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)\u00a0 to the crime against the content creator.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegarding El Doble R, we currently have no information linking him to the investigation. We maintain strong coordination with the consulate and will communicate with them for any \u00a0additional information\u00a0 that could assist us,\u201d Gonz\u00e1lez asserted during the conference.<\/p>\n
