According to the \u00a0National Meteorological Service (SMN)\u00a0, as of 3:00 AM local time, the \u00a0tropical depression\u00a0 <i><b>Five-E<\/b><\/i> has evolved into a tropical storm, moving northwest at a speed of 19 km\/h. The storm is accompanied by intense rainfall and sustained winds of up to \u00a065 km\/h\u00a0, with gusts reaching \u00a085 km\/h\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">At 3:00 AM, the center of <i>Erick<\/i> was located \u00a0335 kilometers southwest of Puerto Chiapas, Chiapas\u00a0, and \u00a0725 kilometers southeast of Punta Maldonado, Guerrero\u00a0. With forecasts indicating a rapid increase in intensity, <i>Erick<\/i> may reach \u00a0hurricane status\u00a0 before making landfall on the coast of Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>\n  <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.windy.com\/embed.html?type=map&amp;location=coordinates&amp;metricRain=default&amp;metricTemp=default&amp;metricWind=default&amp;zoom=4&amp;overlay=wind&amp;product=ecmwf&amp;level=surface&amp;lat=19.891&amp;lon=-103.008\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">The system has prompted the issuance of \u00a0safety advisories\u00a0 by federal authorities: one for \u00a0hurricane effects\u00a0 from \u00a0Bah\u00edas de Huatulco, Oaxaca, to Punta Maldonado, Guerrero\u00a0, and another for \u00a0tropical storm effects\u00a0 from \u00a0Salina Cruz to Bah\u00edas de Huatulco\u00a0, both along the Oaxacan coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Rainfall predictions for the period from June 17 to June 18 anticipate \u00a0accumulations of up to 150 mm\u00a0 in states such as \u00a0Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, and southern Veracruz\u00a0, raising concerns about potential \u00a0landslides, flash floods\u00a0, and rising rivers and streams in low-lying areas. Very heavy rains are also forecasted for southern Puebla, along with substantial precipitation in Tabasco.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">In addition to rainfall, a \u00a0wave height\u00a0 of between \u00a02.5 and 3.5 meters\u00a0 is expected, along with \u00a0wind gusts of up to 70 km\/h\u00a0 along the coastlines of Oaxaca and Chiapas. These conditions are projected to intensify as the storm advances northwestward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Should the intensity remain as projected, the system is expected to reach \u00a0Category 1 hurricane status\u00a0 by \u00a0June 18 at 12:00 PM\u00a0, further intensifying to \u00a0Category 2\u00a0 by the morning of June 19, when it is forecasted to be located just \u00a075 km south of Lagunas de Chacahua, Oaxaca\u00a0.<\/p>\n<div class=\"visual__image\">\n    <picture><source  media=\"(min-width: 1000px)\"\/><source  media=\"(min-width: 768px)\"\/><source  media=\"(min-width: 580px)\"\/><source  media=\"(min-width: 350px)\"\/><source  media=\"(min-width: 80px)\"\/><img alt=\"Posible trayectoria.
