Rodr\u00edguez assured that the government would closely monitor both cases, with investigations continuing under the jurisdiction of state prosecutors or the \u00a0Federal Attorney General’s Office\u00a0, as applicable.<\/p>\n

The municipal president of \u00a0San Mateo Pi\u00f1as\u00a0 was \u00a0murdered\u00a0 on June 15 within the premises of her office. The attack was carried out by two armed men, who also shot the municipal \u00a0sindico\u00a0 and left two local police officers injured.<\/p>\n
