He highlighted that, within the Peronist movement, “Cristina holds an exclusive opinion : you either accept it or you leave.” This statement underscores the significant influence that Kirchner wields, not only on her own standing but also on the internal dynamics of the Peronist movement.

In a discussion with Infobae en Vivo, during the afternoon program led by Jesica Bossi, Diego Iglesias, María Eugenia Duffard, and Federico Mayol, Moreno elaborated on the intertwining of political and economic perspectives during his interactions with Cristina Kirchner. “I had a good exchange with her; we started our conversation without any issues. We discussed the economy because it’s very difficult to analyze politics without clarity on economic situations,” he stated. His remarks highlight the necessity for a united front during challenging legal times for Kirchner.

<picture></picture>
Guillermo Moreno on Infobae en Vivo.

Moreno further emphasized the cultural and political implications of the judicial decision on the Peronist movement, noting the protective nature of its members towards Kirchner. “When we speak about Kirchnerism, we devalue it. The Peronists reacted as we were educated to treat our elders; the men of Peronism have no choice but to safeguard her. A lady who is a widow and imprisoned, the men of Peronism are compelled to protect her,” he stated, illustrating the tradition of responsibility ingrained in the Peronist ideology.

When discussing Kirchner’s opinion and its weight in the Peronist landscape, Moreno asserted, “Ultimately, she will have an exclusive opinion, and that’s a problem for her. The debate is over once her opinion is expressed because no one will oppose it. Not necessarily because they agree with her, but perhaps to avoid confronting her.” His comments reflect the controversial and challenging environment for any Peronist leader who dares to oppose Kirchner’s views, which could lead to their marginalization within the party.

Despite acknowledging Kirchner’s substantial influence, Moreno cautioned that her leadership is not guaranteed. “If you leave, she doesn’t lead. The Peronist movement is engaged in an intriguing debate about what economic policies should be implemented in a future government. We are not questioning whether there will be a Peronist government; I rule that out.”

Elaborating on his own position within the Peronist framework, Moreno commented, “You see the Peronism as the PJ. But what about me? What am I, the president of Principios y Valores? Peronism was the Pope Francis.” His statements underscore the notion that Peronism extends beyond the Justicialist Party and encompasses diverse expressions and leadership, all rooted in a unified ideological foundation.

Regarding his personal interactions with Kirchner, Moreno clarified that he has not been in contact with her since 2015. Nevertheless, he emphasized that during the incident involving an assassination attempt on Kirchner, his party released a statement expressing their stance on the situation.

When comparing the severity of the judicial ruling to the assassination attempt, he stressed the importance of distinguishing between isolated individuals and a possible organized group behind the violent act. “The crucial question about the assassination attempt was whether it was a group of lunatics or a command that decided on actions and planned to kill. I labeled them as some crazies, and afterwards (Agustín) Rossi, in charge of intelligence, stated they were crazies, which helped calm us down. There’s a significant difference between a group that decides to murder and mere lunatics.”

“I subscribe to the theory of the lunatics.” He concluded by stating that if there were indeed a group with a premeditated plan to assassinate, then it presents a major crisis, not just for Kirchner, but for all individuals involved in the political arena.

Infobae en Vivo remains your daily companion on YouTube, offering interviews, analyses, and the most pertinent information in an engaging format.
