The TBMM Petition Commission has seen a remarkable influx of applications, particularly regarding \u00a0restoration of the right to revenge\u00a0, expansion of the KADES application for men’s use, and the promotion of an \u00a0intermittent fasting\u00a0 nutrition program nationwide. These issues have been highlighted in the nearly \u00a019,531 applications\u00a0 received during the 28th legislative period, spanning from May 15, 2023, to May 30, 2025.<\/p>\n

APPLICATION NUMBERS INCREASE BY 63%<\/h2>\n

The number of applications has surged by \u00a063%\u00a0 compared to the previous legislative term. Applications have primarily focused on \u00a0working life and retirement\u00a0, \u00a0justice services\u00a0, and \u00a0environmental management\u00a0. The majority of applications came from major metropolitan areas such as \u00a0Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir\u00a0.<\/p>\n

The commission noted an average daily petition count of \u00a026\u00a0, reflecting this 63% increase compared to the last legislative period.<\/p>\n

Among the petitions, \u00a0approximately 4,192\u00a0 were related to working life and retirement, followed by \u00a03,080\u00a0 on justice services, and \u00a02,000\u00a0 concerning environmental management.<\/p>\n

HIGHEST NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS FROM ISTANBUL<\/h2>\n

Istanbul accounted for the highest number of applications, with \u00a04,272\u00a0 petitions registered. This was followed by \u00a02,211\u00a0 from Ankara and \u00a01,134\u00a0 from Izmir. Other significant contributors included \u00a0Bursa, Antalya, Kocaeli, Konya, Kayseri, Adana,\u00a0 and \u00a0Mersin\u00a0, which also saw a considerable number of applications.<\/p>\n

The commission’s presidency has reached a decision on \u00a09,406\u00a0 petitions after deliberation over various meetings. Applications deemed inappropriate or repetitive have been dismissed, while some remain under review.<\/p>\n

DIVERSE AND INTRIGUING REQUESTS<\/h2>\n

The petitions included a variety of \u00a0fascinating requests\u00a0. For example, one citizen urged that public employees who smoke should work longer hours compared to non-smokers. Another sought legal action against noisy neighbors to have them evicted from their apartments.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there were calls for the nationwide promotion of intermittent fasting programs, illustrating the diverse issues navigated by the commission.<\/p>\n
