A recent \u00a0poll\u00a0 conducted by Elabe for BFMTV and La Tribune Dimanche reveals significant shifts in the \u00a0political landscape\u00a0 of France. One year after President Emmanuel Macron’s dissolution of the National Assembly, the Rassemblement National (RN) is poised at the top of voters’ \u00a0intentions\u00a0, ahead of the Nouveau Front Populaire (NFP) and the Ensemble party, should new legislative elections be called.<\/p>\n\n

Approximately a year has passed since the \u00a0dissolution\u00a0 of the National Assembly, a move that Macron admitted has led to \u201cmore divisions than solutions.\u201d At that time, during the \u00a0early legislative elections\u00a0 in July, the NFP, a coalition of La France Insoumise, Europe \u00c9cologie Les Verts, the Socialist Party, and the French Communist Party, secured 180 seats, edging out Ensemble, which garnered 159 seats, while RN trailed closely behind with 143 seats.<\/p>\n\n

However, current dynamics seem vastly different. The Elabe poll indicates that should a new dissolution occur, the RN could expect to capture between \u00a032.5% and 33%\u00a0 of voter intentions, up significantly from the \u00a024.7%\u00a0 it received during last year\u2019s legislative elections.<\/p>\n\n

The Left Surpassing Ensemble<\/h2>\n\n

In a scenario where the left unites, the NFP could secure \u00a021%\u00a0 of the votes (down from \u00a031.2%\u00a0 last year), followed by Ensemble at \u00a015.5%\u00a0 (compared to \u00a027.5%\u00a0 in 2024) and Les R\u00e9publicains with \u00a010%\u00a0 (down from \u00a011.6%\u00a0). Conversely, if the left remains divided, a \u00a0PS\/EELV\/PCF\u00a0 coalition (16%) would surpass La France Insoumise (LFI), which sits at \u00a010%\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n

In case of a new dissolution, the RN would be at the top of voting intentions, and in the event of a divided left, a PS-EELV-PCF alliance would surpass LFI. \u00a9 BFMTV – Elabe<\/span><\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n\n

Regardless of the scenario for the left, Ensemble is projected to capture \u00a015.5%\u00a0 of the voting intentions. Remarkably, the presidential camp taps into \u00a063-64%\u00a0 of its \u00a0electoral base\u00a0 from 2024, with less favorable options being a left candidate or a candidate from the Republicans. Furthermore, a modest percentage of LR (Les R\u00e9publicains) voters (12-15%) appear to be leaning toward Ensemble.<\/p>\n\n

Under its banner, LR is forecasted to achieve between \u00a010-10.5%\u00a0 of the voting intentions, gaining only a fraction of its 2024 voters (51-53%) while also drawing in a considerable section of Ensemble voters (12-15%).<\/p>\n\n

RN, the Major Beneficiary of the Dissolution?<\/h2>\n\n

With hindsight, many \u00a0French citizens\u00a0 perceive the RN as the primary beneficiary of the \u00a0dissolution\u00a0. Currently, \u00a042%\u00a0 of respondents believe that the RN is the party that has emerged from this political crisis in a stronger position, reflecting an increase of \u00a08 points\u00a0 over the past six months. This viewpoint resonates across various voter demographics. Conversely, only \u00a010%\u00a0 of those surveyed perceive the NFP as the party most strengthened by this political episode, with a mere \u00a05%\u00a0 crediting the Republicans or the presidential camp.<\/p>\n\n

Finally, a noteworthy \u00a038%\u00a0 of participants believe that no political faction has emerged victorious from this series of events.<\/p>\n\n

The poll was conducted online from June 3 to June 5, 2025, with a sample size of \u00a01,610\u00a0 individuals representing residents of metropolitan France aged \u00a018 and over\u00a0. The representativeness of the sample has been ensured through quota sampling based on variables such as sex, age, and profession after stratification by region and category of agglomeration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
