\u201cBeno\u00eet was supposed to turn 18 today,\u201d his father reminded the crowd gathered on Rue Saint-Ursule. \u201cHe was a \u00a0respectful\u00a0 boy, loved by everyone he met, whether in sports, music, school, or at work. He didn\u2019t deserve this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Following the emotional tribute, the anger of Beno\u00eet’s father became evident as he addressed his son’s \u00a0murderer\u00a0. \u201cI want to kill that guy with my own hands, I\u2019ll say it frankly,\u201d he exclaimed. \u201cTo kill him and bury him in a field like a wild animal. He\u2019s worthless, that guy is a coward. As I told Beno\u00eet, when we \u00a0fight\u00a0 for a disagreement, we do it with our bare hands, like a man. That\u2019s what courageous men do, and \u00a0Beno\u00eet was courageous\u00a0.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The alleged murderer is a 16-year-old French minor<\/a>. He is currently at large and the subject of a \u00a0Red Notice\u00a0 from Interpol, making him the only minor worldwide listed under these alerts that indicate the \u00a0dangerous\u00a0 nature of the individual at large.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The victim, who was killed by \u201c\u00a0multiple stab wounds\u00a0\u201d to the chest, had a \u201c\u00a0pre-existing conflict\u00a0\u201d with the alleged perpetrator, reportedly over the theft of his baseball cap just days prior, according to Dax prosecutor Beno\u00eet Fontaine.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

On Tuesday, the magistrate further stated that the investigation is proceeding under the classification of \u00a0murder\u00a0, as the nature of the conflict between the perpetrator and the victim suggests a \u00a0premeditated act\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The incident occurred on Saturday around 11 PM near \u00a0Place de la Fontaine-Chaude\u00a0 in downtown Dax, where several hundred people had gathered to watch the PSG-Inter Milan Champions League final broadcast by various bars, as there was no official fan zone.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The adolescent was stabbed in \u201ca quieter adjacent street to the square,\u201d according to the prosecution, before succumbing to his injuries in the hospital around 1:15 AM on Sunday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
