As these foods form the diet of many families, the exposure levels to cadmium can be alarming, particularly for children whose bodies are still developing.<\/p>\n<h2>Professionals Sound the Alarm<\/h2>\n<p>In a letter dated June 2nd, addressed to French Prime Minister and other relevant ministers, the \u00a0French National Conference of Regional Health Professionals\u00a0 (URPS-ML) expressed its great \u00a0concern\u00a0 over the issue. \u00a0Pascal Meyvaert\u00a0, the coordinator of the working group on health and the environment within URPS-ML, made a bold statement: \u201c\u00a0Cadmium exposure is a health bomb.\u00a0 There is an urgent need to alert public authorities to protect citizens.
