An \u00a0important fire\u00a0 on an \u00a0electric transformer\u00a0 of RTE is ongoing this Wednesday evening in \u00a0Echalas\u00a0 (Rh\u00f4ne) on Route de la Croix des Rameaux, approximately thirty kilometers from <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/auvergne-rhone-alpes\/lyon_69123\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lyon<\/a>, near Givors, according to our information.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wall-content\">A Thirties Firefighters on Site<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wall-content\">The fire is producing significant smoke over the \u00a0Lyon basin\u00a0. Significant firefighting resources are engaged at the scene. A dozen fire trucks are present with more than \u00a0thirty firefighters\u00a0 committed. The local firefighters from Echalas were the first to arrive, while reinforcements from Givors, Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, the Croix-Rousse district of Lyon, and the city center are dispatched to the location.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wall-content\">Gendarmerie officers are also on-site, and a &#8220;chemical risk&#8221; unit from the fire department is also present.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wall-content\">The Rh\u00f4ne prefecture confirmed to <em>actu Lyon<\/em> that the fire is still ongoing as of 9:30 PM.
