They were heading to sports lessons at \u00a0Stadion Alt-H\u00fcrth\u00a0. Simultaneously, the driver approached in a \u00a0BMW\u00a0, traveling in the direction of Alt-H\u00fcrth. Moments later, the \u00a0crash\u00a0 occurred, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, two of whom were seriously injured, including one school child. The injured girl required \u00a0immediate resuscitation\u00a0 from paramedics on-site. A supervisor also sustained severe injuries.\n\nThe alarm was raised at the \u00a0fire brigade’s control center\u00a0, leading to a \u00a0major response\u00a0; two rescue helicopters, four ambulances, four emergency doctors, and fire service personnel rushed to assist the victims and console the shocked children.\n\n

Serious Injuries and Medical Assistance<\/h3>\n\nThe girl who was critically injured was airlifted to the \u00a0University Hospital\u00a0. Officials indicated that her \u00a0life was in danger\u00a0. The injured supervisor was similarly evacuated by helicopter to \u00a0Klinikum Merheim\u00a0 in K\u00f6ln. Two other children were transported to local hospitals by ambulances.\n\n

Community Support and Reactions<\/h3>\n\nMeanwhile, parents of the children involved were informed. Psychological support was provided to both parents and children, initially in a nearby field and later in school facilities. The city established a \u00a0public hotline\u00a0 for the affected classes to provide additional support.\n\nH\u00fcrth’s Mayor, \u00a0Dirk Breuer\u00a0, visited the crash site. \u201cThis is a terrible and tragic incident,\u201d he remarked. \u201cWe are praying for the critically injured and keeping them and their families in our thoughts.\u201d\n\n
