Here&#8217;s a closer look at some of the key highlights of this vibrant event.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title9\">A Festive Evening on June 6<\/h2>\n<p>The UN Ocean Conference is undeniably a serious gathering with significant implications for our planet. However, the city of Nice has decided to infuse some celebration into the event. On \u00a0June 6\u00a0, a festive evening is slated to unfold, starting at \u00a08:30 PM\u00a0. Featuring two renowned DJs, \u00a0Cassius\u00a0 and \u00a0Agoria\u00a0, the celebration will take place atop the Ponchettes, where they will perform a back-to-back set. Attendees will have the opportunity to dance below along the \u00a0Quai des Etats-Unis\u00a0. After the musical performances, all eyes will turn to the sky for a spectacular drone show at \u00a010:45 PM\u00a0, featuring an astounding \u00a02,025 drones\u00a0. Organized by the French startup \u00a0Dronisos\u00a0, known for their expertise in drone displays, this event aims to break the record for the largest drone fleet ever flown in public. The best viewing spot will be at the top of the \u00a0Promenade des Anglais\u00a0, where the show will unfold over the sea, facing the airport.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title9\"><b>World Oceans Day and Boat Parade on June 8<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>It would have been unthinkable to hold a summit focused on the ocean without a \u00a0spectacle on the water\u00a0. \u00a0June 8\u00a0 marks \u00a0World Oceans Day\u00a0, during which special attention will be placed on oceanic peoples, featuring key figures from global marine civil society. Following the Universal Grand Bath, maritime bands, and numerous onshore and offshore activities, the day will culminate in a \u00a0maritime parade of nations\u00a0 showcasing a variety of scientific vessels and exemplars. This event will unfold in three phases: At \u00a011 AM\u00a0 in Antibes, a classic fleet of \u00a065 magnificent sailing yachts\u00a0 will compete in the \u00a0World Ocean Day Race\u00a0 along the coastline. At \u00a02:30 PM\u00a0, the traditional fleet will depart from the \u00a0Villefranche-sur-Mer\u00a0, featuring historical fishing boats and a yole from \u00a0Martinique\u00a0. Finally, by \u00a03 PM\u00a0, spectators will gather along the Quai des Etats-Unis and the Promenade des Anglais to witness a parade of approximately \u00a030 vessels\u00a0 ranging from 12.50 to 98 meters long. This promises to be a spectacular sight as the world&#8217;s most beautiful boats come together.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title9\"><b>Exhibitions Galore<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>This year, the \u00a0Biennale of Arts\u00a0 has embraced an oceanic theme, presenting various artistic proposals across the city&#8217;s museums and public spaces. Among the exhibitions is \u00a0&#8220;Nice, from Shore to Sea\u201d\u00a0 at the \u00a0Villa Mass\u00e9na\u00a0, which delves into Nice&#8217;s historical relationship with the Mediterranean; \u00a0&#8220;Matisse M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e(s)&#8221;\u00a0 at the \u00a0Matisse Museum\u00a0, showcasing previously unseen works by the artist; and \u00a0&#8220;The Midnight Zone&#8221;\u00a0, where Ugo Schiavi exhibits a tentacled installation exploring the \u00a0abyssal world\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, on the \u00a0Promenade des Anglais\u00a0, in front of the \u00a0Mediterranean University Center\u00a0, visionary artworks from the laureates of the \u00a0Jacques Rougerie Foundation\u00a0 highlight bold solutions for the future of our oceans and space. On the \u00a0esplanade of the Bourgada\u00a0, \u00a0naturalist photographs\u00a0 by \u00a0Greg Lecoeur\u00a0 and \u00a0Olivier Anrigo\u00a0 showcase \u00a0\u201cthe living ocean,\u201d\u00a0 reflecting its beauty and fragility. Similarly, the \u00a0Lympia Cultural Space\u00a0 will host underwater images by \u00a0Hussain Aga Khan\u00a0 for the exhibition titled \u00a0&#8220;Fragile Ocean,&#8221;\u00a0 aiming to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect vulnerable ecosystems.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title9\"><b>Study Day of the Local High Council on Climate and Biodiversity<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Prominent figures will meet with the public to discuss the challenges related to \u00a0climate change\u00a0 and provide innovative adaptation solutions. \u00a0Erik Orsenna\u00a0, an academician, and \u00a0Jacques Rougerie\u00a0, an oceanographer architect, will share their visions for building the future of our civilizations. This event will take place at the \u00a0Mediterranean University Center\u00a0 (65, Promenade des Anglais) on \u00a0June 12\u00a0 starting at \u00a09 AM\u00a0.
