The Gaza Government Confirms the Entry of Humanitarian Aid into the Enclave<\/h2>\n

The **Gaza Strip Press Service**, under the control of **Hamas**, has confirmed the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged territory. In a message released on Wednesday night via **Telegram**, it was reported that the equivalent of **87 aid trucks** had successfully crossed into the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This news follows an announcement by **Israel** indicating that **100 UN humanitarian aid trucks** had entered Gaza on the same day. These trucks were laden with essential goods, including **flour**, **baby food**, and **medical supplies**. This came after **93 trucks** entered the previous day and an additional **ten on Monday**. Notably, the cargoes had initially faced challenges exiting the **Kerem Shalom** transhipment area located south of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Israeli authorities granted permission to **UN teams** to navigate through a particularly congested area deemed unsafe, where **looting** was a significant concern given the ongoing **humanitarian crisis**. St\u00e9phane Dujarric, spokesperson for the **UN Secretary-General**, has emphasized the precarious conditions faced by aid workers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite these recent developments, the **United Nations** characterized the volume of aid entering as merely a **”drop in the ocean”** compared to the existing needs of the Gazan population. Before the eruption of violence in response to a **Hamas** attack on **October 7, 2023**, approximately **500 humanitarian aid trucks** crossed into Gaza daily, highlighting a stark contrast to the current situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Efforts by Israel to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages resulted in a significant blockade on **March 2**, restricting the entrance of any merchandise into the enclave. This blockade has exacerbated the **humanitarian situation**, already dire prior to the war.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
