Atallah stands as the founder of both Filmlab Palestine<\/strong> and August Films<\/strong>, which have cultivated emerging filmmakers across Palestine and the Arab world. His recent productions include Upshot<\/em>, which won Best Short Film at the Locarno Film Festival<\/strong>, and Thank You for Banking with Us<\/em>, shown at the acclaimed BFI London Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Joining Atallah and Hotait in this venture is Amina Abodoma<\/strong>, a veteran consultant from Idris Elba\u2019s Green Door Pictures. Route 243 will revolve around three operational pillars: The Originals Think Tank<\/strong>, The Development Studio<\/strong>, and The Consulting Station<\/strong>. The Originals Think Tank focuses on reimagining established intellectual properties, aiming to adapt iconic stories into films. This initiative has already led to partnerships with notable publishers like Cairo\u2019s Diwan Publishing House<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Development Studio will concentrate on creating original content, targeting commercially viable screenplays for both film and television. This structure ensures that their narratives are both creative and marketable, ready for production.<\/p>\n

Lastly, The Consulting Station will provide tailored development consulting for both talent and studios, offering services ranging from script coverage to project packaging, enhancing the development process.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Route 243’s slate also includes genre-defying projects such as Hotait\u2019s Like Salt<\/em>, a time travel fantasy, and Mokeb<\/em>, a feature adaptation of Hana Fatima Dehradunwala\u2019s off-Broadway comedy about a millennial\u2019s spiritual journey during Iraq\u2019s Arbaeen pilgrimage.
