On Tuesday night, the Emmy award ceremony took place from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The awards are also called the Primetime Emmy Awards. The American award ceremony is considered the TV series’ version of the Oscars. The series “Succession”, “Ted Lasso” and “The White Lotus” were this year’s big winners. Historic for “Squid Game” South Korean “Squid Game” won five awards, but was nominated in 14 categories. The audience success is Netflix’s most streamed series ever, and was the first non-English-language series to be nominated in the category of best drama series. The series was nominated in a total of 25 categories, and thus became the series with the most nominations. The nominations were in the categories of best drama series and best male lead, among others.
