This weekend, Warner Bros\/New Line\u2019s Final Destination: Bloodlines<\/em> is projected to garner an impressive $20 million on Friday, which includes last night\u2019s $5.5 million previews. With this momentum, it’s on track for a remarkable $43 million three-day total across 3,523 theaters, marking the best opening ever for a film in the Final Destination<\/em> series.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Sinners<\/em> enjoys the advantages of being screened in 70 IMAX auditoriums across 3,518 theaters.<\/p>\n

Notably, The Weeknd\u2019s recent concert tour stop in Glendale, AZ pulled in an impressive $8.7 million, 85% more than the opening weekend of the 4-time Grammy winner\u2019s movie.<\/p>\n

UPDATE:<\/strong> Following earlier reporting, Warner Bros has confirmed $5.5 million in previews for Final Destination: Bloodlines<\/em>. This figure surpasses the $4.7 million of Sinners<\/em>, being $100,000 more than the previews for the Conjuring<\/em> spinoff, The Nun<\/em>, which opened at $22 million on Friday and grossed a total of $53 million in its opening weekend.<\/p>\n

The initial reception for Bloodlines<\/em> has been quite positive, receiving strong PostTrak ratings with an average score of 4 stars and 69% definite recommendation from the audience, 60% of whom were men.<\/p>\n

Lionsgate\/Live Nation’s Hurry Up Tomorrow<\/em> seems to be struggling, receiving a low 1\/2 star rating and a mere 34% recommendation rate. Thursday previews had generated $350,000, but when combined with $1.3 million from early access fan events, total previews only amount to $1.65 million. This movie forms part of The Weeknd’s three-point media strategy, aligned with his North American After Hours Til Dawn Tour, projected to be the highest-grossing concert tour in the U.S., projected revenue of $400 million, and his recent album release that features much of the film’s music.<\/p>\n
