Additionally, a (not-so) new power player will join the chaos on the Southside who hardcore fans will recognize by name and reputation.

Tonight, Shameik Moore debuted as Branford ‘Breeze’ Frady, the nephew of street legends Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods). The couple introduces Breeze to Kanan (MeKai Curtis), and it wasn’t the warmest of welcomes; however, the meeting sparks a new partnership opportunity between the two young men, establishing a lasting connection between the prequel and the flagship series.

“Power” Universe fans have been familiar with the name “Breeze” since the first season of the original series in 2014, and it is one of the characters they have been most eager to meet. Known as a drug kingpin hailing from Jamaica, Queens, Breeze employed a young Kanan Stark, as well as James St. Patrick and Tommy Egan, with the latter two serving as his corner boys, around the same timeframe that Season 5 unfolds.

“The ‘Power’ Universe fans have been patiently anticipating this moment, and I’m honored to step into the iconic role of Breeze,” Moore shared. “I jumped into a story that is already alive with such strong characters, but it was a fun challenge to find Breeze’s unique identity, and I can’t wait for fans to see how Breeze will shift dynamics in the story. In the timeline, Origins would follow the events of Raising Kanan and precede the original Power series. However, it is important to note that Origins has yet to be officially picked up.

Breeze’s story arc is not without tragedy. He will eventually be killed by Ghost approximately 15-18 years before the events that kick off the mothership series. This moment plays a crucial role in shaping Ghost’s identity and future decisions.

“It was always my intention that Raising Kanan would run for five seasons, and thanks to my friends and partners at Starz and Lionsgate, as well as the incredible cast, crew and writing staff, I’ve been able to tell the story I set out to tell all the way back in 2019,” articulated Sascha Penn, executive producer, writer, and showrunner of Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

He further expressed, “Having said that, with the table we’ve set in this season finale and the forthcoming introduction of Breeze, there is still an exceptionally intense and action-packed season ahead for the viewers to experience, and I assure you that the stakes for Kanan and the entire Thomas family have never been higher. I’m incredibly proud of this series and thankful that we’ve been able to see it through to what promises to be an explosive and fulfilling conclusion for the devoted fans of the Power Universe.”

Is this truly the end of the Power franchise? Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force, featuring the OG star Joseph Sikora reprising his role of Tommy in the present timeline, will conclude after one more season. Meanwhile, Power Book II: Ghost ended after four seasons last year.

Reports suggest that there are multiple exciting Power projects at different stages of development, though there’s nothing officially confirmed at this moment. The prequel Origins could continue the narrative of the past, and depending on how Force wraps up, Tommy’s journey might continue as well. It’s worth pondering whether he, along with Ghost’s son Tariq and possibly Tasha, will rebuild the remnants of their family. After all, that trio appeared quite chummy in the final season of Power Book II: Ghost, didn’t they?

In a closing note, I had the opportunity to connect with Penn for a post-mortem discussion that delves deeper into the future of Power, the shocking events of the finale that fans are about to witness, and a special guest who will help dissect the astonishing last beats of Season 4.

All four seasons of Power Book II: Raising Kanan are currently available for streaming on Starz.

This article comprehensively covers major developments in the series while adhering to SEO best practices and maintaining clarity in the writing structure.

Magazine – 8

Significant Revelations from Power Book III: Raising Kanan’s Season 4 Finale SPOILER ALERT: The following reveals major spoilers from the Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 finale.
