Thus, a dream duel against Casper Ruud awaits on Sunday.  Alcaraz had to struggle against the American Tiafoe, but finally secured the final ticket with the set numbers 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 after over four hours of play.  The 19-year-old is now ready for his first final in the US Open.  The semi-final victory means that the winner of Sunday&#8217;s final between Alcaraz and Ruud will take the position of world number one when the ATP rankings are updated next week.
