But we try to adapt to it as best we can,\u201d said **Megan Reaume**, a manager at **Sandstone Therapeutic Massage**. Having worked there for thirteen years, she noted the changes over time and commented, \u201cIt gets really **backed up**, even all the way to **Taft Road**. So, it\u2019s definitely become more congested in recent years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reaume added that this congestion affects her business, especially since their operations are **appointment-based**. \u201cWe have clients who call in saying they\u2019re going to be late because Beck Road is so congested,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, **Austin Kasha**, the owner and an optometrist at **Beck Eyecare**, has also felt the ramifications of this growing issue. \u201cI\u2019ve lived in this area for about 12 years. Twelve years ago, the one-lane road was manageable. Now, it\u2019s not,\u201d Kasha pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the **noise pollution** has become a pressing concern for local residents. \u201cNow, you\u2019ve got houses whose driveways are on Beck or their backyards are on the road, and they have to deal with noise, dust, and heavy traffic. It\u2019s going to be rough for them to pull out of their driveways,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n<h2>City Officials Addressing the Situation<\/h2>\n<p>Connecting with **Jeffrey Herczeg**, the **director of Public Works** for the city of Novi, he emphasized the need for an **environmental assessment**. The assessment will cover the stretch from **9 Mile Road to Pontiac Trail**. However, he pointed out that the project lacks full funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, there is funding in place: **$4.7 million** for the segment from **11 Mile to Grand River**,\u201d Herczeg stated. His department is aware of the urgent need for further improvements and understand the goals of the public meeting. This gathering aims to complete the assessment and move forward with crucial projects and funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstimates for the costs range between **$10 to $12 million per segment** from **9 Mile to Pontiac Trail**. This does not even include the rail crossing, which could be an additional **$30 million project**,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2>Community Feedback and Future Actions<\/h2>\n<p>Residents are encouraged to engage with the ongoing planning by visiting <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.becktothefuture.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>becktothefuture.org<\/b><\/a>.
