The summary is made by a Ki service from Openai. The content is checked by news’s journalists before publishing. – I am extremely disappointed, says Ingrid Thunem (35). She is chairman of the board of the young people with disabilities. The 35-year-old himself has a physical disability. She can’t go. Is dependent on help with everything she does around the clock. And she needs breathing help. – Mental and energy -wise I’m a little above average. I have a lot of energy and love having a thousand balls in the air. Ingrid lives in Tromsø. At home in his own house. -It is solved with a fantastic BPA scheme. Here I am recognized as a human being and have the opportunity to live an active life. She is soon finished with a doctorate in sexuality and disability. And she envisions that there are more job opportunities in Eastern Norway. But she simply doesn’t dare to move. Because then she has to apply for all services again in a new municipality. – I am afraid that I can end up in nursing homes against my will, if I choose to move to another municipality. And it’s no wonder Ingrid is scared. At year -end 2023, 76 people had under 50 years long -term place in nursing homes in this country. 21 young adults wanted to move. Figures for 2024 are not yet clear. Not a majority for legislative amendments four years ago, the Storting decided that no children and young people up to 50 years should be able to be placed in nursing homes against their will. The Storting made a so -called request decision. The government was asked to propose the necessary legislative amendment. A bill was sent out for consultation, but last fall, the government announced that they would drop it. The government felt it was not necessary. Now they are supported by a majority in the Storting. Thus, there is no ban. – We risk being in a situation where children and young people’s human rights are broken, and one is treated as second -degree citizens, and economics becomes more important than our lives and our freedom. – It shouldn’t be that way, says Ingrid Thune. – Is not about money recently dealt with the Storting’s control and constitution committee. It ended up here because the government had said it would not do anything about what the Storting had asked them about; to submit a bill. The head of the committee, Peter Frølich from the Right, has not been available. That is why we have received a response from Erlend Svardal Bøe (H) who sits on the health committee. – It’s not about money, but about finding good solutions that actually work in practice. – The right believes that children and young people should not live in nursing homes, but we are skeptical of an absolute prohibition of laws that can create more new problems and unintended consequences, says Bøe. Only the Progress Party, the SV and the Red wanted the law to be changed when the matter was up in the committee. – Throws young people with disabilities during the bus organization LHL has many young members affected by acute illness, including stroke. Several of them have been placed in nursing homes. Secretary General Magne Wang Fredriksen, believes it is unworthy, sensational and sad what is happening now. Magne Wang Fredriksen is Secretary General of LHL. Photo: LHL – It is dishonest for all those who have believed that we as a society have politicians who really want to take into account the vulnerable in society. For almost 30 years, top politicians have advocated that children and young people should not live in nursing homes and nursing homes against their will. And many eye a hope that something would happen when the Storting a few years ago made two decisions. Two decisions in the Storting in 2018 decided a unanimous parliament that children should not be settled in nursing homes in violation of the family’s wishes and the best interests of the child. In 2021, the Storting made a so -called request decision: “The Storting asks the government to promote the necessary legislative amendment which states that no municipalities can place people between 0 and fifty years, in nursing homes against their will. For children, the closest relatives’ will will apply. ” LHL believes politicians in the Storting now fail young people with disabilities. And that they have to think about and ask themselves a question. – Are they really willing to throw young people with disabilities under the bus, after decades of promises that it will not happen, says Fredriksen. – Feigt Bård Hoksrud in the Progress Party, says he is very provoked and incredibly disappointed on behalf of the young people who do not want to live in a nursing home, but who are placed there by their municipality. Photo: Christian Ziegler Remme / news – that the government and a majority in the Storting believe this is okay, I think I am completely hair -raising. And he is not gracious to his parliamentary colleagues who have previously supported a ban, but who have now turned. – I think it’s cowardly because I think you stick from your responsibility. He especially points to the Labor Party and the Center Party, which in its time supported a ban. – Now they are disappointing in control and the Constitution Committee by voting in order not to legislate the court, so that young people do not be placed in nursing homes against their will. This is how the Labor Party and the Center Party respond to the criticism from Frp’s answers from the Labor Party: Frode Jacobsen from the Labor Party is 1. Deputy chair of the control and constitution committee at the Storting. He says the government has initiated a number of other measures, which means that a law is no longer needed. – When the Storting for the UKA is to consider the Storting report on the follow -up of request decisions, a majority has joined the government’s comment that the 2020 decision has now been satisfactorily acknowledged, he says. Answers from the Center Party: Storting representative Kjersti Toppe from Sp writes in an e-mail to news that they completely agree with Frp in the case, and that it is certainly unfortunate if young people have to live in nursing homes against their will. – It shouldn’t happen. But we see that there have been important counter -arguments against making a statutory ban on this, and believe that we should be able to get the same without a legal regulation. She believes that for Frp it is always a solution to legislate matters that one will do something about in the health service, but she points out that there are many examples that legislation does not lead to change. – The important thing is to change the awareness, culture and understanding that all municipalities will work for other solutions for this, and that the municipalities have a financial framework for this. – As the government has stated about it, several steps have been taken to prevent young people from living in nursing homes against their will. Among other things, state managers should follow up the municipalities in this area. And Toppe refers to consultation input for the case, including from the Medical Association, which fears that this had become a right on the paper. – We have therefore concluded in the Center Party not to proceed with the bill, but will continue work against the municipalities to prevent young people from living in nursing homes against their will. Kjersti Toppe – Sharp you Hoksrud still thinks that not all hope is out. The matter will finally be dealt with in the Storting on Tuesday, April 29. – I hope that more of the representatives think about it, and support a ban on placing young people in nursing homes against their will. Also 35-year-old Ingrid Thunem in young people with disabilities, has one message to the politicians in the Storting. – Sharp. We must be allowed to live where we want. Ingrid Thunem believes that children and adolescents with disabilities placed in nursing homes against their will are deprived of the opportunity to contribute and participate in society.
