The move comes on the back of Shout! Studios nabbing worldwide rights (excluding select Asian territories) to the coveted Golden Princess movie library. <\/p>\n

The digital rollout begins June 24, while the label\u2019s first physical release will be \u201cThe Jet Li Collection,\u201d a 10-disc 4K UHD + Blu-ray box set arriving July 29. This comprehensive set features five of the martial arts superstar\u2019s seminal Hong Kong films: \u201cFist of Legend,\u201d \u201cTai Chi Master,\u201d \u201cFong Sai Yuk,\u201d \u201cFong Sai Yuk II,\u201d and \u201cThe Bodyguard from Beijing.\u201d The lavish collection includes new interviews, audio commentaries, vintage featurettes and more special features.<\/p>\n

The Hong Kong Cinema Classics initiative focuses on the influential Hong Kong action films of the \u201980s and \u201990s, a period renowned for thrilling action choreography, distinctive visual styles and emotional storytelling. Many of these titles have been dormant and out-of-print for decades outside of Asia.<\/p>\n

For this new line, Shout! Studios has collaborated with the Hong Kong Film Archives to remaster and restore numerous titles, scanning them in 4K from original camera negatives with restored video and audio, plus newly translated subtitles. <\/p>\n

John Woo\u2019s \u201cHard Boiled\u201d (starring Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and Ringo Lam\u2019s \u201cCity on Fire\u201d (starring Chow Yun-Fat, Sun Yueh, and Danny Lee) will begin the digital rollout on June 24. July 8 brings John Woo\u2019s \u201cA Better Tomorrow\u201d trilogy, followed by Tsui Hark\u2019s \u201cPeking Opera Blues\u201d and John Woo\u2019s \u201cThe Killer\u201d on July 22. The digital releases continue with Tony Ching\u2019s \u201cA Chinese Ghost Story\u201d trilogy on Aug. 5 and Woo\u2019s \u201cBullet in the Head\u201d on Aug. 19.<\/p>\n

On the physical media front, \u201cThe Jet Li Collection\u201d box set launches July 29, followed by Ringo Lam\u2019s \u201cCity on Fire\u201d on Aug. 26 and Tsui Hark\u2019s \u201cPeking Opera Blues\u201d on Sept. 23, both as 4K UHD + Blu-ray combo packs. The series will be numbered for collectors, with the five Jet Li films designated as HKCC #1-5, \u201cCity on Fire\u201d as HKCC #6, and \u201cPeking Opera Blues\u201d as HKCC #7.<\/p>\n
