Virik finished 0.923 behind Hungarian Noemi Pupp, who won the heat.  The three fastest in the heat qualified directly for the final.  4th to 6th place went to the semi-finals.  Jon Amund Vold was also in action in the water in Munich and is ready for the semi-finals in both the 500 and 1000 meter singles.  He finished in 6th place in the 500 metres, 4.296 seconds behind Serbian Bojan Zdelar, who was fastest in heat two.  In the 1000 meters he finished in 5th place, 5.224 seconds behind Portuguese Fernando Pimenta, who won the second heat.  Hedda \u00d8ritsland also progressed to the semi-finals in the single 500 metres.  \u00d8ritsland paddled into 5th place in their heat, 4.677 seconds behind the winner.  The Norwegian duo consisting of Kristine Amundsen\/Anna Sletsj\u00f8e and Vemund N\u00e6ss-Jensen\/Hakeem Teland also progressed to the semi-finals of the double 500 metres.  Amundsen and Sletsj\u00f8 are also ready for the semi-finals of the double 1000 metres, despite finishing 19.611 seconds behind the Polish duo who won the heat.
