Ahmed al-Charaa, appointed acting president in January, said that it would take four to five years to organize elections.<\/p>\n
Announced at a press conference at the presidential palace, in Damascus, the constitutional declaration, however, aroused criticism from the Kurdish autonomous administration in the northeast of the country.
