Both the member states and the parliament from the ballot boxes, and a leaning much more on the right, had the ambition to harden policy against illegal immigration and to explore avenues such as the creation of the return centers of undocumented migrants installed outside Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph \">While the asylum and migration pact had been voted by the previous majority, more progressive, a key link in the European immigration management system was missing, that governing the expulsions of undocumented migrants, whether they are dismissed asylum or those whose visa has expired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph \">With barely 20 % of approximately 435,000 decisions to distance European territory really applied, according to data from 2023, the &#8220;return&#8221; system works poorly on the old continent.
