While Donald Trump, with his presidential victory against Kamala Harris, was preparing to find the White House, the &#8220;large Old Party&#8221; (GOP) retained a short majority in the House of Representatives (218 Republican elected officials, 214 elected Democrats) and reconciled the Senate (53 republican seats against 47 democratic and related seats). The Americans also qualified this situation as control of the executive and legislative branches of <em>trifecta<\/em> (The &#8220;winning third&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph \">Despite this domination, Donald Trump and his allies are however at the mercy of the Democrats, especially on the thorny question of the budget. Even if they remain perfectly united, <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2025\/03\/10\/politics\/democrats-johnson-budget-shutdown-government\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Nouvelle fen\u00eatre\">They will need<\/a> Support of some elected officials from the opposing camp, or, at least, of their lack of opposition, to apply their program.
