NASA, the American space agency, announced on Tuesday March 10, that it would close the office of its chief scientist, Katherine Calvin, as well as the office of technology, politics and strategy and the branch of diversity, equity and inclusion policies within the diversity office. In all, around twenty people are affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph \">Katherine Calvin, a brilliant scientist in his forties, had been appointed to his post in 2022 by former president Joe Biden to advise NASA management on scientific programs and science investments. She was also the main advisor of the agency on the<strong> <\/strong>climate. This researcher specializing in the human use of global resources (land, water, energy, etc.) is also co -chaired by group 3 of the group of intergovernmental experts on climate evolution (IPCC), devoted to solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph \">At the end of February, she <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-025-00596-0\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Nouvelle fen\u00eatre\">had been prohibited<\/a> by the republican administration to participate in the last plenary session of the UN institution in China. NASA also dismantled the technical team which helped him to animate group 3, which compromises the development of the next IPCC report on the limitation of carbon discharges.
