Such a proposal was never proposed by anyone else. The only thing we could do was to continue fighting the terrorists, says a statement that is supposed to be from Assad. It was shared on the Telegram channel of the ousted regime&#8217;s presidential office on Monday. It is dated December 16 and Moscow. Assad claims that the reason the statement has been delayed was that communication in Syria was down in connection with the rebel attack. This despite the fact that it was already known one week ago that Assad had fled to Moscow and been granted asylum by President Vladimir Putin. The US Foreign Ministry estimated in 2022 that the entire Assad family is worth 1\u20132 billion dollars, around NOK 10\u201320 billion. However, the report emphasizes that it is difficult to confirm the figure, because values \u200b\u200bare probably &#8220;hidden in various accounts, in property, companies and tax havens&#8221;.
