The 53-year-old senator Marco Rubio from Florida is likely to be appointed as US Secretary of State by President-elect Donald Trump. The New York Times refers to three sources with knowledge of the decision, and the Reuters news agency also refers to sources. This has not been confirmed by Trump, but his name has been brought up recently. Rubio was also one of those who were talked about as a vice presidential candidate, before JD Vance was chosen.
