On the night of 23 December, a man in his 30s was found dead at an address in Namsos. His partner, a woman in her 30s, was charged with grievous bodily harm resulting in death and remanded in custody for four weeks. The police prosecutor’s office has now increased the charge to include a violation of section 275 of the Criminal Code on murder. The police write this in a press release. – The charge has been changed following an overall assessment of the information that has emerged so far in the investigation. The prosecution believes that there is a preponderance of probability that the accused committed an intentional act of murder. That’s what Åsta Elden says, the prosecuting officer in the case at Trøndelag police district. The investigation is still fully underway. Since the new year, a number of witness interviews and several technical investigations have been carried out, among other things. New questions have also been taken of the accused and her two children, who were witnesses to the incident. – The police are investigating the case extensively. Investigations relating to the relationship between the parties prior to the incident are part of this work. The cause of the incident and the issue of emergency guardians are key topics that we want to shed light on, says Elden. A new detention meeting has been scheduled in Trøndelag district court on Friday 20 January.
