The police are now raising the charge to attempted murder. – The charge has been sharpened to include attempted murder on the basis of information that we have received from the hospital about the victim’s injuries, combined with the explanation that the victim gave to the police last week. This is what the prosecutor in the case Åsta Elden at Trøndelag police district writes in a press release on Wednesday. The woman in her 70s was stabbed and strangled. The accused hid in the apartment with a bloody knife, and was found by the police an hour and a half after the incident. The suspect was questioned on Wednesday last week. Then she said she did not remember the incident. She also said she is not guilty. – It is not currently clear whether the accused will be requested to remain in custody when the current period of imprisonment expires. We will take a final decision on that in the next few days, writes Elden. In the investigation, the police have focused on charting the sequence of events, and this work is still ongoing.
