The brigade, which is the armed wing of Islamic holy war (jihad), says it will happen when “appropriate measures” are put in place. It is uncertain what nationality these two hostages have. Earlier, Hamas released four hostages for humanitarian and medical reasons. More than 200 hostages were taken over to the Gaza Strip after Hamas’s attack on Israel on 7 October.
