Will not say when Follobanen opens again – news Oslo og Viken – Local news, TV and radio

25 January 2023 at 14:08 Bane Nor: Will not say when the Follobane will reopen Bane Nor should actually put power on the Follobane facility today and start test runs tomorrow. It has now been decided that this will be postponed for five days. At the same time, the company will not come up with a new date for the reopening of the track, either for powering up, test driving or opening. This is what CEO Gorm Frimannslund and executive director Stine Undrum say at Bane Nor during a press briefing on Wednesday. – We have been too optimistic, says Frimannslund about the deadlines that Bane Nor has so far stated. There are problems with the joints in high-voltage cables, which means that Bane Nor has now instead decided to replace four cables of 600 meters each. This means that there are 2.4 kilometers of cables that carry electricity to the train system that need to be replaced. Undrum also says that there is a risk that the work now underway will take longer than the five days calculated. In addition, she does not rule out that unforeseen problems may arise when the test drive starts. Now a temporary route offer will be launched which will apply from 1 February until the Follobanen is opened again.
