9 October 2023 at 00:46 Widerøe plane sent out a mayday message – had to return to Bodø A Widerøe plane on its way to Evenes and Andenes had to return to Bodø on Sunday after experiencing technical problems. There were 48 passengers on board the plane, writes Avisa Nordland. The technical problems arose shortly after departure. As a result of the problems, a mayday signal was also sent out. – We were informed from the tower in Bodø a little after 11:00 p.m., Liss Emma Elevenes at the Central Rescue Center tells the newspaper. Press manager Catharina Solli in Widerøe says that the plane received an instrument indication of a technical fault in the air. – Then they chose to go back to Bodø, where we have a technical base. They also wanted increased preparedness for landing, and therefore declared a mayday. Then all fire and rescue services are present. The landing went smoothly and the passengers are rebooked onto another flight.
