Aid Phases and Requirements
The Auto+ Plan aid is divided into three phases, meaning that 100% of the aid is distributed in parts: one covering 50% and two covering 25%. To receive the full amount, all requirements must be met in each phase:
- Phase 1: Type of car (up to 50% of the total aid): Electric or hydrogen vehicles receive 50%, while hybrid models receive 25%.
- Phase 2: Car price (up to 25% of total aid): Cars priced ≤ €35,000 receive an additional 25%; between €35,001 and €45,000 receive an extra 15%. Vehicles above €45,000 do not qualify.
- Phase 3: Manufacturing location (up to 25% of total aid): If manufactured in Europe, an additional 15% is provided; if the battery is assembled in Europe, an additional 10% can be received.
To qualify for the maximum aid of €4,500, you need to meet all conditions: a zero-emission car, priced ≤ €35,000, manufactured in Europe, and with the battery assembled in Europe.
Failure to meet any requirement means you will lose that specific percentage of aid.
Considerations for Aid Application
Several points are crucial regarding the types of vehicles eligible for aid:
- Aid applies to all purchases made from January 1, 2026, onward.
- Only zero-emission vehicles are eligible for aid.
- Passenger cars (M1) must not exceed €45,000 before VAT.
- Vehicles N1 have no purchase cap for aid eligibility.
- Mopeds (L3e, L4e, and L5e) must be priced ≤ €10,000 before taxes.
- Quadricycles (L6e and L7e) have no purchase cap for aid.
- The maximum aid for a car is €4,500.
- The manufacturer must provide a minimum discount of €1,000.
- Delivery timelines for aid remain unclear.
How and When to Apply for Aid
As of now, it’s unclear how to apply for the Auto+ Plan aid. In past plans, applications were made through dealers or personally, but details are still pending.
The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has not clarified exact applications. Ideally, discounts would be applied instantly at purchase to avoid delays that plagued the MOVES III Plan. Further updates are forthcoming to clarify the application process and timelines.
Stay tuned for updates!
