– The board has come to the conclusion that we can no longer manage financially. We do not want to go bankrupt and have therefore chosen to dissolve the business, says Anna Rognlien to news. She is general manager of Innovatis AS, which owns russebuss.no. Since their inception in 2017, they have worked with the rental of Russian buses, lighting and sound systems to Russian groups in Norway. Many rent or buy Russian buses during Russian times. Photo: Lise Åserud / NTB The decision to wind down operations was taken last week. The company currently has contracts with 19 different Russian groups, all of whom are Russian until next year. The contracts are of different sizes, but some of them are worth up to NOK 870,000. Wants to pay back Rognlien tells news on Monday evening that the most important thing for her now is that the liquidation should take place as orderly as possible. – And by that I mean that we have a desire to pay back what we owe to those who have given us money, she says. – Will it work? – We don’t know for sure yet, but we believe and hope that it will go well. When news spoke to her on Monday evening, she had been sitting in meetings with various Russian groups all day. It has been hard, she says. – The Russians have been clearly upset. Some of them have cried. And I must have shed a few tears too. Although the meetings have not been of the pleasant kind, she still believes that the Russians have met them with understanding. In the next few days, Russebuss will have meetings with all the 19 Russian groups they now have contracts with. – One positive thing in the whole thing is that we have a lot of values in the company. We own all the buses and the lighting and sound systems, for example. No profitability in bus rental According to the daily manager, it is difficult to operate the rental of Russian buses. – There is simply no profitability in it. We have too much working against us, she says. Russebuss.no has been one of the biggest players on the market. Photo: Kyrre Lien / NTB According to her, there are several reasons why the company must now be wound up. One is that the regulations surrounding the construction of Russian buses have become stricter. – We have ready-built buses that we cannot get approved by the Swedish Road Administration. Then we are also not allowed to send them out to those who have rented them. Another factor is that they have had a lot of bad luck with several of their buses this year. Several of the buses are between 40 and 50 years old. – We have had to tow some of them due to errors, and it has cost several hundred thousand kroner in total. In addition, we have had large expenses with the remodeling of our bus hall. – Overall, we couldn’t cope with the financial burden, she says.
