Less than 24 hours have passed since Apple presented the new iPhone models, and, as usual, doubts arise:  Is it worth renewing the mobile  for any of the new versions? Should one opt for the iPhone Air, or is it better to go directly for one of the Pro Line models? You may even be contemplating a third option: taking advantage of discounts on previous models.

We return with one of our favorite formats, the Versus. In this series, we have compared everything from watches for less than 200 euros to tablets perfect for the return to class and even some of Amazon’s best-selling fryers. This time, it’s the iPhone’s turn. Although we still don’t have the new models in our hands, our colleague Samuel Oliver has lined them up to address the big question: which one should you choose?

Buy a New Generation iPhone or Take Advantage of a Previous Model?

For a long time, the Pro models have monopolized most of the attention. However, this year, the situation has changed. “I think this year’s stars are the base models: we are finally seeing  promotions featuring 120 Hz refresh rates and a 48 MP sensor  in the main camera,” says Samuel.

In the accompanying video, Samuel dives into some of the key features of the new entry-level models—two aspects that could be decisive for many users.

“This year’s Pro models feel somewhat diluted for those who love  video and photography ,” he adds in front of the camera, providing a bold opinion on the iPhone Air. So far, what is supposedly the most challenging mobile to recommend? We will uncover that shortly.

Samuel also discusses various scenarios, including a very common one: those thinking about buying an iPhone from the previous generation. “It is Apple’s best phone to date, featuring all the latest camera enhancements, processor upgrades, and camera control buttons tailored for Apple Intelligence,” he mentions regarding one of the older models. Plus, he highlights some of its most relevant features.

Apple iPhone Pro Review

In the video, it’s also explained what alternatives exist when Apple discontinues models from its store. Here’s some good news:  it is possible to find interesting devices at lower prices , making it a valid option for those looking for an iPhone without breaking the bank.

As always in Versus, Samuel assesses the strengths and weaknesses of models such as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14, guiding us not just to a winning choice but providing tips for each type of user to find their ideal option. The video is [now available on the Xataka YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lryuPGgVRJQ), and we encourage you to check it out and leave your feedback in the comments.

As the dust settles after Apple’s latest launch, consumers are left with essential questions. Should they opt for the cutting-edge features of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, or does the iPhone Air offer enough value for general users? Previous models, now seeing price reductions, can prove to be wise budget choices. The competition between models showcases the versatility of Apple’s offerings, giving consumers multiple paths to explore. As technology evolves, so does the significance of informed decisions. It’s crucial to weigh the pros and cons carefully rather than jumping on the latest trend. Only then can one choose a device that truly meets their needs and preferences.
