Oslo municipality recommends that people avoid swimming in the Oslo Fjord, writes the municipality in a press release. The municipality states that the drainage system is not designed to handle the current water volumes. – Tunnels are full, and both treatment plants are running at full capacity. Unfortunately, the system is not able to remove all the water masses that cause wastewater to overflow. Overflow means that wastewater and rainwater are released into rivers and waterways, writes the municipality. They warn that the problem will persist now that snowmelt has been reported.
