Was told by Arne Bye she had cysts – was the disease she could get treatment for – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– I was in pain. Pretty strong pain too, but that was just the way it was. One had to live with that. That’s what one of the offended women in the Frosta case said in court on Tuesday. For about 20 years, Arne Bye had said that it was cysts on the ovaries that were the cause of the pain, the woman said. When she went to another doctor, she learned that she has endometriosis. – And I could have been operated on many years ago, if he had referred me further. Even suggested that it could be endometriosis The woman told the court that Arne Bye would often examine her “cysts” when she was at a doctor’s appointment. – Most of the times I was in for something, he said “we’ll take a check”. The examinations were often painful, the woman said. Arne Bye said in his explanation that he did not recognize that he had been preoccupied with the cysts. – It was portrayed as if I had problematized and perhaps frightened the patient with the ovarian cysts, said Bye. – And I don’t recognize myself in that in any way. After testifying in court, the woman told the press that she herself had been thinking that it could be endometriosis that was the cause of the pain – I had been thinking about it myself and had suggested that it might be endometriosis . The proposal was, however, turned down by Bye, the woman said. – So then I just had to put it down. I shouldn’t have done that. After going to a doctor other than Bye, she has subsequently had it confirmed that her pain was due to endometriosis. She said that it was good to have her own suspicions confirmed. – At the same time, it was very disappointing when a problem and pain I’ve been dealing with for so long could have been removed 15-20 years ago. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, says that she is relieved after testifying in the case. Photo: Henning Levold / news Bye admits to raping a woman The woman is one of three women who told their stories from the doctor’s office in Frosta on Tuesday. Bye pleaded guilty to raping the woman. – The investigation is too lengthy and repetitive. It will never be finished, Bye said after the woman had explained herself and the court had seen video from the doctor’s office. Bye is accused of raping the woman by inserting a cylindrical object and several fingers into her vagina during a gynecological examination. It was the use of the fingers that Bye pleaded guilty to, not the use of the cylinder. – As I have said myself, it is inappropriate, he said when he explained himself. This is the ninth woman Bye has admitted to raping so far in the court case. Also before the weekend, he acknowledged several new acts of violence. – Very easily Bye has previously denied criminal liability for raping the woman. The fact that he acknowledged the rape today seemed to her to be a relief. – I did not expect that, but I am glad that he did it, she told the press after Bye had given his explanation. She said that the case has been difficult, but that she is happy to have finished testifying. – Right now I feel very relieved to be done with it. – I came in with a backpack that weighed me down. Now I have thrown the bag into his lap. Published 03.12.2024, at 15.58 Updated 03.12.2024, at 17.07
