Warning of slippery roads in several places on Tuesday morning – news Norway – Overview of news from various parts of the country

– It is worst on the E6 from Skedsmokorset towards Oslo. It is partly very slippery there, says traffic operator Annie Serup. It is slippery on both the main and side roads in Eastern Norway on Tuesday morning. The Swedish Road Administration asks you to be aware that the ground may be colder than the temperature displayed in the car. People are asked to feel the conditions before getting into the car to go to work. It is so cold that sand and salt do not help. – Watch out for slippery areas, and drive according to the conditions. It can be slippery, even if it looks like it’s just a road, says Serup. – It’s no use to sprinkle On the E6 it is particularly slippery between Skedsmokorset and Oslo, where a little snow has fallen. – There is no point in spreading sand on E6. So it will be smooth, says traffic operator Thale Eikeset in the Vegtrafikksentralen east to news. Common salt does not work well at temperatures below 7-8 degrees Celsius. Magnesium chloride was used last night instead of salt on E6. Magnesium chloride works at lower temperatures. It is only on the largest roads in the Oslo area, such as the E6, that magnesium chloride is used. – It is down to 17 degrees north of Oslo. So it will be slippery, and people will have to feel the conditions tomorrow morning, says Eikeset. The Norwegian Road Traffic Center warns of slippery roads, including on the E6 at Kløfta, on the night of Tuesday 5 December 2023. Along the E16 at Voss up past Oppheim and on county road 5 in Lærdal, there are stretches where salt and sand do not bite. – You don’t have to go that far outside the center of Bergen before you find areas where it is now so cold that salt and sand do not help on the smooth roads, says traffic operator Jørgen Bødtker in the Vegtrafikksentralen west. It can also be slippery on the side roads there. – Someone who is not used to driving on winter roads may find it very slippery. Especially someone who drives spike-free can experience it as very smooth, says Bødtker to NTB. Trouble in train traffic On the night of Tuesday, power problems created challenges for train traffic on the Østfold Line. The problems have been fixed, but you have to expect delays and adjustments between Oslo S and Ski. These train lines may be affected: Oslo S – Rakkestad, Østfoldbanen east line Stabekk – Ski, Østfoldbanen Oslo S – Moss, Østfoldbanen west line Oslo S – Halden – (Gothenburg), Østfoldbanen west line.
