4 September 2022 at 11:55 Hauger too early in the depot: – Slightly frustrated Dennis Hauger still in fourth place and took 12 points in the Formula 2 race in Zandvoort in the Netherlands, a chaotic race that was marked by many accidents and interruptions. The Norwegian 19-year-old started in seventh place, but got off to a great start and was quickly up to third place. Then Logan Sargeant crashed, and the race was stopped for nearly 20 minutes while the damage was repaired. But Hauger was allowed to keep his third place when the race was restarted. Later, several accidents followed which meant that the safety cars had to enter the track, but Hauger was not involved in any of them. Hauger had to finish with run-down tyres, because he was early in the depot to change. That decision was taken by the team management, and Hauger did not like it himself. – I was a little frustrated. I didn’t see any advantages in that, I think I could fight for second place, said Hauger to Viasat Sport. – But all in all, I’m still quite satisfied with the race, he added. Therefore, he had no chance of entering the top three. In the end he had to concentrate on keeping fourth place. Felipe Drugovich won the race ahead of Richard Verschoor and Ayumu Iwasa. Formula 2 continues with races in the Italian Monza next weekend, and will conclude in Abu Dhabi in November.
