– I can confirm that there was an incident of violence at the school which we will now follow closely, says crime chief Daniel Holm at Sarpsborg police station. On Wednesday morning, the police went to Tindlund secondary school in Sarpsborg after reports of a fight out of control. Pupils from several levels must have been involved. – Arguments and fights were the beginning of the incident. The police were called and came to the scene and calmed the whole thing down, says Holm. The municipality: – Unacceptable Sarpsborg municipality is aware that there have been challenges in the student environment at the school for a long time. There have been episodes and smaller incidents also earlier last autumn. Director of education, Erik Bråthen, is aware that fights are not okay at school. – This is completely unacceptable behaviour. We expect you not to behave like that when you are at school, or in a larger group during your free time. We have close and good cooperation with the police, and will cooperate with them in the further work as well. The parents at the school have been notified of the incident. – It is clear that it is undesirable. We don’t want a school environment like that, says FAU leader Christian Claussen. Bråthen says that parents of pupils at Tindlund have no more reason to worry than parents of children at other schools. – They have good employees, and a management that takes the situation seriously. But there are disturbances in youth environments in many places now, and we are working together with our employees as a preventive measure to ensure as best as possible that such incidents do not occur again, says the director of education.
