Vinmonopolet opens outlet in Sveio municipality – news Vestland

With cake and alcohol-free bubbles, it was marked that yet another municipality in Norway received sales from Vinmonopolet. Vinmonopolet then opened a store in the Vestland municipality of Sveio, which is located in the south of Vestland, on the border with Rogaland. The municipality has approximately 6,000 inhabitants. Thus, 237 of the 356 municipalities in Norway have one or more pollutsal. – Now 95.6 per cent of the inhabitants of Norway live in a municipality with a beer hall, says Jens Nordahl, press officer at Vinmonopol. In order to get through Nålauga to the Vinmonopolet, the municipality must have both a certain amount of trade and housing, in addition to fulfilling several other criteria. – No pole should operate with a deficit, says Nordahl. The residents of Sveio are well satisfied that they have finally been given the opportunity to shop for Polish goods without having to drive to the neighboring municipalities. – I think it is important to have a pole in the municipality, says Vigdis Eidsvåg, who on the opening day went to the store to buy a few drops of Aperol, a bottle of Prosecco and a red wine. Now there is a Vinmonopol in this municipality as well. But there are still many people on the waiting list. It was the newly elected mayor André Mundal Haukås (H) who had the honor of opening the pole. – Now we have received an offer in the municipality that we have not had before, says the mayor, who is not at all afraid that this will increase drink consumption in the municipality. He thinks it is extra nice that the outlet sells goods in Nynorsk. If you go into the store in the neighboring municipality of Haugesund in Rogaland, you will only get “red wine”, “white wine” and “sparkling wine”. – Here they have red wine, white wine and sparkling wine. It’s very nice, he says. Marit Bjelland (left) has already been and secured a bottle of red wine after the opening of the pool in the municipality. Here together with Brit Jorunn Haukås and Eli Våge. Altogether there are 77 municipalities that have a municipal council resolution that they want a pole. But not everyone will get it. For some it will never come, says Nordahl. In order to get through Nålauga, the municipality must have a certain turnover, residential population, and not be too far away from the nearest pole outlet. – Many municipalities without a pole have almost no trade at all, he says. The municipality of Eidfjord in Vestland is one of the 13 pollause municipalities in the county. – We have a municipal council resolution from the 2000s stating that we want the pole. Last winter, we had a meeting with Vinmonopolet about setting up here. We are still not quite there that we meet the criteria, says outgoing mayor Anders Vatle (Sp). According to Vatle, small trade is one of the basic characteristics of the municipality, which, among other things, is a stopping point for many cottagers. – It is simply about getting more people to stop in Eidfjord, says Vatle. Eidfjord municipality in Vestland is one of many municipalities that still does not have a pole. Photo: Linda Bjørgan / news Excited about what they are buying In Lærdal municipality, they have also wanted a pole. – I have considered the advantages and disadvantages. If I get a pole sale, I lose the opportunity to get things free of charge. If I get a sale, it will probably be a limited selection, says the mayor of Lærdal, Audun Mo (Ap). The store in Sveio is a branch of Vinmonopolet in Oasen on Karmøy. They must be open three days a week and have a selection of around 500 items. Anne Kathrine Silverbird is manager of the Vinmonopolet store in Sveio. They are the last store open in Norway. Photo: Olav Røli / news – We are a little excited about what products will sell the most here in Sveio. But I think I have managed to put together a good selection. Now there’s a lot of sides and alcohol-free, says store manager Anne Kathrine Silverbird. Hello!
