Victims in the Frosta case react with both shock and laughter to Arne Bye’s explanation – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

On Wednesday, defendant Arne Bye began his statement in Trøndelag district court. He began his free explanation with a review of the female anatomy. He also explains why he has used what he calls alternative objects in the investigations. These include parts of an asthma inhaler, as well as a deodorant-like object. He must have used the inhaler to detect cervical cancer. – I won’t use the term genius, but I think it was a smart idea, says Bye. This cylindrical object is said to have been used by the former doctor to detect cervical cancer, according to his own explanation. Photo: the police – Completely ridiculous The victims who are present in the district court in Steinkjer react differently to what is said. – It is a mixture of shock and laughter. What he says is completely ridiculous, says one of the offended women to news. Several believe the statements Bye makes show that he lacks an understanding of reality. None of them wants to be named. – It is not us who come out of this badly, says another woman in the district court. None of Arne Bye’s defenders, Erlend Hjulstad Nilsen or Per Ove Sørholt, want to comment on the criticism from the aggrieved parties. – Thought the young people were easily violated Arne Bye is accused of, among other things, 87 rapes. There are a total of 94 victims in the case. The age range extends from 14-67 years. Victims news has spoken to say that generational differences have been important in revealing what is supposed to have happened, as several of the slightly older ladies say that they have defended the accused doctor for a long time. – We thought the young people were only very easily offended, says one of the women. Now they are very grateful that the young women were able to stand it and that they did not give up. New information Assistance lawyer Tove Røddesnes says her clients are waiting for the defendant to receive critical questions from the actors. Something that will come on Thursday. When asked what she thinks about Bye’s explanations, the lawyer replies as follows: – This is information that was not known before. This has not been brought up in questioning in advance. But Røddesnes is not surprised by the content. She says the defendant seems like a thorough and careful person. – It has been a long review today.
