– Very tiring mentally – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– The worst was actually until the WC, because then I tried and tried, and didn’t quite know what to expect. I promised myself that I would try to do what I could to get along, but it didn’t work out, Filip Ingebrigtsen told news. He made a new plan, but EC participation in August did not work out either. The Achilles was too sore. – It has been tough and taken a very long time. It has, in a way, gotten better, but it has taken a long time, he believes. BRAUT: Filip Ingebrigtsen’s first race this season was 5000 meters during the Bislett Games. Then he broke. The comeback: – Fantastic He hasn’t run with spiked shoes since the championship last summer, but on Sunday the 29-year-old made a comeback when he ran five kilometers during the Drammen half-marathon. It was fourth place, with a time of 14.03. – It was fantastic, even if it is difficult when you have to get started. But I am very satisfied with how the Achilles was and that I can run without pain, says Ingebrigtsen. STJERNE: Two happy medalists in Drammen received a picture with Filip Ingebrigtsen. Photo: Jann Post / news Big brother Henrik was also there, not on, but by the track. – I see that he lacks quite a bit purely technically in relation to really being able to run fast. When Filip is fit, it looks so elegant and aesthetically pleasing. Today he lacks it a little, works a little against himself and is a little ineffective in his step. I think this is something good to build on, states Henrik Ingebrigtsen, who has also had most of the competition season spoiled by injury. – Trying to be smart The athletics season sings on the last verse, but Filip Ingebrigtsen hopes to test himself in a couple of track races before he really looks forward to next season. – How is the motivation? – People just have to be careful, he says, grinning. – It’s not about the motivation, but it’s clear that you appreciate being healthy and injury-free when you’ve gone as long as I have now, says Filip. Because last season was also tough for the athlete with both EC gold from 2016 and WC bronze the following year. – Last year I went straight to hell with illness the whole year, even though I ran 3.32 (at 1500 meters) and 7.34 (at 3000 metres), it wasn’t a strong season. The general condition was extremely bad all year, explains Filip Ingebrigtsen. DOWN TOUR: Filip Ingebrigtsen did not progress from the 1500 qualifier in the Olympics, in what was a troubled summer. Photo: Heiko Junge / NTB Don’t want to be mediocre In spring and early summer, he felt much more energetic, and the training went as it should with little brother Jakob. He thinks he knows the reason for the new downturn. – The total load will be higher than it has been in a year. I try to be smart. I’m not getting any younger with the years, and have to take a calculated risk. I can’t just guess and hope it goes well. I have to be reasonable and I know I’ve been that way all along, but sometimes you’re a bit unlucky and get something crap like that. A typical running injury, he says of the Achilles. For Henrik, too, the problem is in the heel, but he believes it is a nerve which means that he has been training far less than he wanted recently. Nevertheless, the motivation for another year is in place. A year where it will not only be Jakob who secures medals for the family. – The plan is for all three to start next year and be competitive, but when we push as hard as we do, the margins are small and the risk high. We have no desire to secure mediocre results, says Henrik Ingebrigtsen.
