– Some journeys may have a longer journey time. Driving conditions may be locally difficult, warns the Meteorological Institute on Varsom.no. In Southern Norway, the snowfall has started. The precipitation will continue until Saturday night. The snow will mainly fall in interior and higher areas. Between 5-15 centimeters of snow is expected in 24 hours. But locally, up to 25 centimeters of snow can fall. The snow line is at 100-400 metres. The snow along the coast will mainly arrive on Friday. The danger warning for snow applies to Agder and parts of Eastern Norway. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute warns that some journeys may have longer journey times and that there may be difficult driving conditions locally. – It has been over half a year since we drove on snow-covered roads, so traffic challenges can quickly arise, says Gislefoss. On several of the roads it has settled down, so cars with summer tires don’t have much to do there, says the state meteorologist. Otherwise, the Meteorological Institute asks people to calculate extra time for transport and driving, and to drive according to the conditions. One of those who has spent the day getting the tires changed is Kai Gimre. – It was perhaps not the best day to change the tyre, he admits. He had to wait almost two hours to have the tire changed. – It has been mild, so I haven’t had to think about it until now, says Gimre. Kai Gimre had to spend large parts of the day queuing to change tyres. Photo: Kjetil Samuelsen / news Southern Norway takes the brunt The rest of the country will have good weather this weekend, the meteorologist can tell. – The weather is fine there, with few clouds and lots of nice weather, says state meteorologist Kristian Gislefoss. It is connected with the fact that there is a lot of wind coming from the south and south-east. – Then it is Southern Norway and Eastern Norway that take the brunt of the clouds and precipitation, the rest of the country also fares quite well, says Gislefoss. – Lots of nice weather in Western Norway, Trøndelag and in Northern Norway, there will also be relatively low temperatures typically on the Finnmarksvidda, with temperatures down to minus 20
