20 October 2022 at 13:00 BBC: Undersea cable to Shetland damaged Communications to Shetland have been severely disrupted after a submarine cable was damaged, the BBC writes. According to the police, the submarine cable on the south side between the islands and the mainland has been cut. They state, among other things, that telephones, the internet and computers cannot be used. Member of Parliament Alastair Carmichael tells the BBC that he understands that it may take several days for communication to function as normal.
