Two people have been sent to Haukeland University Hospital with unknown extent of damage after a basement fire in an apartment block on Møhlenpris in Bergen. One received cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the spot, says police task leader Rune Vedeler in the West police district. No other people should be reported injured. Photo: news VESTLAND Entire block of flats evacuated The fire brigade rushed to the block of flats following reports of smoke just before 9.30pm on Wednesday evening. Smoke divers were sent into the basement apartment and were able to knock down the fire somewhat. The entire five-storey block of flats with 12 apartments was evacuated as a result of the incident. It is a little after 10.30 p.m. it is not known how many people will be able to return to their apartments tonight. – We are working together with Bergen municipality regarding the possible housing of evacuees. We don’t have a complete overview of the need yet, says operations manager Tore-André Brakstad in the West police district. At 22.27 the fire was reported under control.
